Privacy policy, written in plain English
What we collect, why we collect it, and how to make us forget it. Last updated January 2026 — and yes, it applies to this site and every booking we take.
What we actually collect
Only what we need to plan and run your trip — nothing decorative.
Booking details
Name, phone, email, dates, group size, dietary needs and anything you volunteer in a form or call.
Payment references
Card details go straight to our payment processor — we see a receipt, not your number.
Site analytics
Anonymous page stats so we know which trips people actually look at. Details live in the cookie policy.
What we don't take
No tracking pixels across the web, no buying lists, no scraping your contacts. Weird that this needs saying, but here it is.
What we do with it
- Plan and confirm your itinerary, stays and event seats
- Reach you before and during the trip — changes, weather, check-ins
- Send post-trip surveys (one email, genuinely optional)
- Meet tax and record-keeping obligations under Australian law
Marketing emails?
Only if you explicitly tick the box. You can leave any time — the unsubscribe link actually works.
Who else sees your details
We share the minimum needed to run your booking — with the people actually delivering it.
- Suppliers: hotels, guides, venues and transport operators on your route
- Payment processor: to take deposits and balances
- Regulators: only if the law genuinely requires it
One hard rule
We never sell or rent your details to anyone. Not to advertisers, not to "partners", not ever. If a supplier wants your email for marketing, that's between you and them.
How long we keep things
Booking records stick around for legal reasons; everything else is short-lived or yours to clear.
Retention
Booking records: 7 years (tax law). Enquiry emails that never became bookings: 12 months, then gone.
Cookies
Functional and analytics cookies only — the full list and how to switch them off is in the cookie policy.
Where it's stored
Booking data lives on Australian-hosted systems with access limited to the planning team. No overseas data farms.
See it, fix it, or bin it
Under the Australian Privacy Act you can ask what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted where the law allows.
How to ask
Email goodvibesadventure@gmail.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. We answer within 30 days — usually much faster.
Access
Ask for a copy of everything we hold about you. It's free and we'll send it in a readable format.
Correction
Wrong number or a name typo? Tell us and we'll fix it everywhere — including with suppliers.
Deletion
Ask us to delete your data. The only exception is records the tax office makes us keep.
Complaints
Unhappy with our answer? You can escalate to the OAIC — though we'd honestly rather sort it directly first.
If this policy changes, you'll know
Material changes get flagged on this page 30 days before they take effect. The current version always lives here.
